Academic Qualifications
· Hold a recognised bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification;
· Some programmes, such as the Master of Science in Risk Analytics, may require applicants to have a relevant academic background in areas such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, finance, economics, or related fields. Specific requirements vary by programme.
Language Requirements
· Chinese-Taught Programmes: IELTS / TOEFL scores are generally not required, but applicants must have good proficiency in Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing. Some programmes may arrange an interview in Chinese.
· English-Taught Programmes: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL iBT 79 (or PBT 550) / CET-6 430 / TEM-4 70 (valid within two years), or an equivalent qualification; some programmes may have higher requirements.
Work Experience and Other Requirements
· Some programmes require an admission interview;
· MBA and other management-related programmes may require relevant management or work experience, depending on the programme;

Application Period (2026/2027 Academic Year Reference)
· Fall Intake: Applications are generally accepted from 2025 November to 2026 June; non-local applicants usually have multiple application rounds (for some programmes, deadlines are around 2026 April / June), while local applicants may generally apply until 2026 August. · Spring Intake: Programmes such as the Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Management, Master of Arts in Chinese, Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Management, and Master of Arts in Strategic Communication offer 2027 January intake. Applications from non-local students are generally accepted from around 2026 August to October, while local students may generally apply until around 2026 December.
Degree and Recognition
Upon successful completion of the programme and fulfilment of graduation requirements, students will be awarded a master’s degree by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. The degree is recognised in Hong Kong and by the Ministry of Education of Mainland China. Eligible graduates may apply for academic qualification verification through the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange. After graduation, eligible students may apply for the Hong Kong IANG visa to remain in Hong Kong for employment.
